Low mileage used bikes seem to be very reasonably priced.
(other than the styling, which I kinda dig)
How’s it gonna break moto-opponauts?

I’ve been looking at tons of used bikes recently too. Mainly these: https://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/mcy/5821049549.html ; http://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2010-Ducati-HYPERMOTARD-1100-EVO-SP-119580153 ; https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/mcy/5807310662.html
Not sure what would go wrong with the BMW though, new bikes tend to be really reliable.

I know nothing about bikes.
But I think that one is rad!

I love those bikes, but they’re nearly twice the price of the F800R.

You’re finding an F800R for $4000?

The one I’m looking at is “only” $5k, which seems pretty reasonable to me.

That’s a good deal depending on the mileage and if it’s been serviced recently!

Used bikes are the bees knees. They don’t hold their value at all.

look here for info.
I have a 2010 F800ST I picked up in the spring, so far so good. In my brief time poking around the forum I think I only found one repeated issue about stalling on early models, but I don’t remember the details on cause or models/years it affected. I think it wasn’t relevant to the 2010 and those that did have an issue there was a fix for it. Other than that I didn’t find anything that gave me concern about owning it.
$5k sounds like a pretty good buy. I wonder why the R is not belt drive like the ST/GT.

it’s an extremely good buy at that mileage, even if it’s an 09 (first year I think) it sounds almost too cheap. With ABS it was probably $11-12k new.

It’s a 2011. I’m smitten.

If it’s 7 years old and about half the original sale price it sounds about right to me. Maybe a bit of a low price.

R was meant to be a stunt bike for chris pheffier. that why double sided swing arm and chain drive instead of belt
